Shakambari festival at Durga temple starts today

When Asadha Poornami arrives, Goddess Kanakadurga is decorated with various kinds of vegetables in the name of Sakambari festival to delight the devotees.

The Shakambari festival will start from next Monday on Ashada Poornami and will continue till Wednesday.

Durgamalleswara Swamy Temple Executive Officer D Bhramaramba said in a statement here on Sunday that the Sakambari celebrations will begin on Monday with the worship of Lord Vigneswara and other rituals. He said that Goddess Shakambari is decorated with fruits, vegetables and leafy greens for three days. She said that special Kadamba Prasad will be given to the devotees on all three days.
