This is good news for the devotees of Lord Venkateswara. TTD Trust Board meeting presided over by Chairman YV Subba Reddy has decided to organize the annual Brahmotsavam this year with the participation of pilgrims in the wake of relaxation of the Covid guidelines by the Centre.
After the meeting of the Trust Board held at Annamaiya Bhavan in Tirumala on Monday, the Chairman told media representatives that due to the restrictions of the Covid epidemic, annual Brahmotsavams were held in seclusion without the participation of pilgrims in 2020 and 2021.
"As the central and state governments have now relaxed the Covid restrictions, this year, we will hold the nine-day festival grandly and organize a procession of vehicular services on Mada streets," he said. Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will present silk clothes on behalf of the state government on the first day of Brahmotsavam on September 27.
He said that on the long-awaited re-launch of SSD tokens and contrary to the expectations of devotees, the current darshan system will continue without time slot tokens. He added that after a thorough study on measures to be taken to avoid long wait for tokens for darshan, TTD will consider reintroduction of SSD tokens.
He said that the organization of Venkateswara Vaibhavotsava will be resumed in the districts that have stopped and the first program will be held in Nellore district from August 16 to 20.
The Board of the Trust has approved proposals to develop SV High School in Tirumala as a model school in collaboration with Singhania Educational Trust to train teachers and print 33 lakh copies of various types. Its diaries and calendars for the year 2023, On the advice of Agama Pandits, procurement of a dozen organic products produced by natural agriculture for making Srivari Prasadas, Ananda Nilayam Vimanam gold garlands and undertaking construction work at Padmavati Pediatric Hospital at a cost of Rs.154.50 crores.
It also approved proposals for renovation of Tirumala Paruveta Mandapam (Rs 2.07 crore), development of greenery and flower gardens at Sri Venkateswara Devyakshetra at Amaravati (Rs 2.90 crore), gold plating of Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy idol (Rs 18.75 crore).
