Narendra Modi appreciates the generous teacher

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Rambhupal Reddy, a retired teacher from Markapuram, Prakasam district, for his generosity and care for the education of poor girls in his area.

On Sunday, during the 89th episode of his monthly program 'Man Ki Baat', the Prime Minister announced his retirement benefits of Rs. The teacher was congratulated for making arrangements for the education of the girls by donating Rs 25 lakh as financial assistance.

Rambhupal Reddy served as the headmaster of the Zilla Parishad High School in Yadavalli village in Racharla zone. From the beginning of his career as a teacher, he was known for his charitable activities to help poor children continue their education.

He retired in August last year and decided to do more for the children of poor families by getting retirement benefits of around Rs 25 lakh.

After discussing with the family members, Rambhupal Reddy identified more than 90 girls under the age of 10 from poor families in Yadavalli, Ankireddy Palli and Cherlopalli villages with the help of volunteers. Sukanya Samridhi Yojana opened accounts at the post office on their names. Rambhupal Reddy deposited Rs. 25 lakhs.

Deposit of Rs. 1, 20,000 is expected to earn interest and accordingly the girls will be able to deposit Rs. Get 1,200. The first year old baby with SSY account has Rs. 1.85 lakhs and Rs. 2.50 lakhs is expected to be received.

At a function on April 30, Giddaluru MLA Anna Rambabu handed over the Ram Bhupal Reddy deposit check and SSY account books to the Postal Department officials.

Ram Bhopal Reddy thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for mentioning him in 'Man Ki Baat'. Moved by the pitiable condition of children he decided to relinquish all the benefits and had deposited all of his retirement benefits and that the girls could withdraw the money and uses it for their education only after they turned 18 years old. He said the government had not done everything for the people and was doing what it could for the children.
