Modi-Biden bilateral meet today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden on Monday Coinciding with the Fourth India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue lined up in Washington.

The meeting will be held against the backdrop of differences between the two sides on the conflict in Ukraine and is fallout on the world order. The Ukraine situation will certainly figure in the talks Biden has with Modi. Biden will continue our close consultations on the consequences of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine and mitigating on global food supply and commodity markets Psaki said.

The virtual meeting will enable both sides to continue their regular and high level engagement aimed at further strengthening the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership the external affairs ministry said in a brief statement.

The two leaders will review the ongoing bilateral cooperation and exchange views on recent developments in the South Asia, the Indo-Pacific region and global issues of mutual interest. The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and external affairs minister S Jaishankar are to meet their US Counterparts Lloyd Austin and Antony Blinken in Washington.
