Telangana Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) lashed out at Union Minister G Kishan Reddy over the 'false' flood relief funds given by the Centre.
On Reddy's statement, KTR said, Kishan Reddy is telling blatant lies and giving false statistics.
The minister lashed out at Reddy for not standing by the people of Telangana in such a difficult time despite being an MP from the state.
Questioning the Centre's stance on Telangana, KTR asked if the Central Government has no responsibility to support the flood affected states.
“When asked how much the Central Govt. KTR said that Kishan Reddy allocated to Telangana under National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) is confusing the people with State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) numbers which are Telangana's rightful share under Article 280.
KTR asked Union Minister Kishan Reddy to read the statement given by Union Home Minister Nityanand Roy in Parliament that not even a single paisa has been given to Telangana after 2018.
"Isn't it true that Prime Minister himself conducted a survey on Gujarat floods and released Rs 1000 crore NDRF special additional assistance in advance in 2021?" KTR asked. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not blind to the problems faced by the people of Telangana. KTR commented that we will continue to question his discriminatory attitude.
KTR commented that the Center headed by Prime Minister Modi is sending huge funds to the flood affected BJP ruled states and only inspection teams are being sent to the non-BJP flood affected states.
Bihar has received Rs. 3250 crores, Madhya Pradesh - Rs. 4530 crores, Karnataka – Rs. 6490 crores, Gujarat - Rs. 1000 crore under NDRF funds. Are these figures correct? KTR asked Kishan Reddy.
“They have assignable Rs 15,270 crores to the four BJP-ruled states, why cannot special funds be given to Telangana as well? KTR asked
KTR challenged Kishan Reddy to bring similar funds to the state of Telangana. Kishan Reddy, who spread lies about NDRF funds, demanded an apology from the people of Telangana.
The state government has assessed the damage caused by the floods in the state and the state has been given Rs. 1400 crores. He said that the Center is trying to get involved by sending inspection teams from Delhi only. He said that this will not do any good for the state.
Minister KTR said that Kishan Reddy does not have the courage to bring additional funds to Telangana from the high level committee formed under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. That is why he commented that he is telling lies to the people of Telangana.
KTR said that Kishan Reddy is making such false statements to become part of the 'Golmal Batch' led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to strengthen his position in the party.
Minister KTR said that if Kishan Reddy, as the Union Minister representing Telangana, fails to do justice to the people of Telangana, he will remain a loser in history.
