CM of AP orders for Speeding up TIDCO housing project

At a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday, TIDCO directed the authorities to expedite the construction of houses and complete the registrations within the stipulated time and hand them over to the beneficiaries.

Officials told the chief minister that infrastructure work at TIDCO homes was progressing at a brisk pace. The government has spent Rs 4,500 crore so far and will spend another Rs 6,000 crore on it.

Referring to the progress of road construction in the state, the government is spending Rs 1,826.22 crore on the development of 16,762 roads along 4,396.65 km. He explained to the CM that 55.15 per cent of the work has already been completed. In addition, repairs to potholes are underway and will be completed by July 15, with 51.92% of the work completed so far, officials said.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to give priority to sanitation management in major towns and municipalities. Authorities have been directed to report on beautification of canals in Vijayawada and see to it that the irrigation canals are not polluted.

Jagan urged the authorities to give priority to sanitation management in major towns and municipalities. Recognizing the efforts of the sanitation staff, the CM increased their salary from Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000. They reminded that from 2015 to 2018 their salary was only Rs.10, 000.

CM Jagan said smart townships should be started in every constituency and flyovers and ROBs should be completed in cities and towns. The Chief Minister also reviewed the work being done under the CRDA. The officials explained to the Chief Minister that the embankment road works were in progress and the construction work of the quarters was in the final stages.
