The BJP national executive on Sunday passed a political resolution calling for an end to "racism, nepotism, nepotism and politics of appeasement" and stressed the need to create an environment conducive to "politics of performance and development".
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma briefed the media on the political resolution of the party and this is a preliminary decision.
Repeatedly asserting that the conference focused on the big picture instead of discussing individual incidents like the Udaipur terror attack case, Sharma expressed confidence that the country would emerge in the next 30 to 40 years as a BJP era. Vishwa Guru during its reign - "At the end of Amrit Kaal as India celebrates 100 years of independence".
The political resolution was proposed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and supported by Sharma and Karnataka Chief Minister Baswaraj Bommai.
Sharma explained that while the resolution listed the achievements of the 'Modi Sarkar', as expected, the perception of the meeting was that "the next big breakthrough for the BJP will be in the south - especially in Telangana and Tamil Nadu".
Although he said that the party is determined to come to power in Kerala, Karnataka and Odisha as well, the immediate focus seems to be on Telangana.
“A new government will be formed soon (in Telangana). The party will release a special statement on Telangana. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that casteism and hereditary politics are the biggest sin committed in the country. We need to defeat the politics of casteism (casteism), parivarvad (dynasty rule) and appeasement and usher in the politics of development and performance,” explained Sharma.
To questions on Udaipur and other recent developments, the Assam chief minister reiterated that fundamentalism; terrorism and other issues had been discussed, but pointed out that the BJP was focused on overcoming these issues with a broad policy of ending dynastic politics and appeasement.
“This resolution highlights BJP's recent electoral success. These victories have proved that the politics of casteism, parochialism and appeasement are over in our country...the politics of performance and development have begun. The resolution exemplifies how the BJP has established its permanent address in the North-East,” he said, adding that by 2024, there would be no gaps in the region.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested that the winds of change in the northeastern states should be explained to the entire country.
Similarly, he suggested various ways for BJP workers to take the government's achievements to the grassroots level.
In particular, BJP activists (activists) wanted the prime minister to highlight the ordinary life of NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu and her message to the people.
"The prime minister suggested that her story of struggle should be taken to the public and brought to light," said Sharma.
The opposition, mainly the Congress, accused the political resolution of opposing every policy of the government even if it was meant for public welfare.
“Today, the opposition has gone to the extent of criticizing the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, but people have already put them on. They are criticizing everything like GST, surgical strikes, Ayushman Bharat, International Yoga Day or the vaccine for Covid,” Amit Shah quoted Sharma as saying.
