BJP asks for deployment of Central forces for Atmakur by poll

Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena said extensive arrangements have been made to hold the Atmakuru by-election on June 23 in a fair manner. On Monday, the CM inspected various polling stations in the Atmakuru assembly segment. He held a review meeting with the officials and inquired about the arrangements for holding the by-elections freely and impartially.
The BJP candidate has demanded the arrest of people who got into a verbal altercation with his wife while campaigning on behalf of her husband in the constituency. He stressed the need to change the constituency level electoral officer in Marripada constituency. The BJP president demanded protection for his nominee Bharat Kumar and the BJP's chief election agent.
Outsiders will not be allowed in for the next 48 hours. Under the supervision of District Superintendent of Police CH Vijayarao, security has been beefed up at 123 weak polling stations in the segment. "We will provide voter lists to all polling agents with details of absentee, immigrant and deceased voters. Lists will be displayed at all polling stations to prevent bogus voting and other electoral fraud,”the CEO said.
District Collector KVN Chakradhar Babu, Joint Collector and Returning Officer MN Harendhira Prasad, Superintendent of Police CH Vijayarao, SVEP Nodal Officer YVK Shanmukh Kumar and other officials were present.
