Assam CM’s wife files a case of Rs 100cr suit on Sisodia

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma on Tuesday filed an Rs 100 crore civil defamation suit against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Civil Judge Court, Kamrup (Metro), Guwahati.

Earlier this month, a war of words broke out between Sisodia and the Assam CM. Referring to the media report, Sisodia Sharma alleged that his wife and son were committing corruption by giving contracts of PPE kits and other Covid related items to business partners. On the same day another company was given just Rs. When only Rs 600 was given, the company linked to Sharma's wife paid Rs. The AAP leader asked why the contract was given at 990 per cent.

Sharma countered Sisodia by threatening to file a criminal defamation suit against the Delhi deputy CM. "Stop preaching and you will face criminal defamation so I will meet you soon in Guwahati," Sharma tweeted.
