Apollo Hospitals introduces robotic knee replacement surgery

APOLLO Hospitals has introduced the robotic technology for doing knee replacement surgery. Dr Madan Mohan Reddy, senior orthopaedic surgeon and robotic knee replacement surgeon, Apollo Hospital, Ongole, said that in the shortest possible time, a robotic operation was brought for recovery and prevention of chronic pain. He said that the robotic surgery has become the very important and the robot will create a 3D model of the knee through a robotic scan and will perform knee replacement surgery. He said data from the robotic arm 3D model would be used to manage the implantation and added that the recovery rate would be faster.

The meeting was attended by the Apollo Hospital Orthopedic surgeons Dr Pammi Karthik Reddy, Dr Vivekanandha Reddy and Dr Shashidhar Reddy.
